Can I play Simcity BuildIt offline?

WorldYes, SimCity BuildIt can be played offline, so your city's progress will be saved on the device you are playing on (mobile, tablet, etc.).

When you get back online, the progress will be saved on the Simcity server. This is important because in case of failure, loss or theft of the device, that progress will be lost. Therefore, the game will warn you from time to time that you are offline.

At the same time, all game interactions through the Internet are disabled: Global Trade, access to other Facebook friend accounts, selling your products through your limited trade depot, chatting in your club, club challenges, shipment of your designs, advertising, buying SimCash, etc.

However, your neighbor Daniel will be operative (being able to buy your products after 48 hours or being able to buy from his trade depot -which is renewed every 24 hours-), and you will be able to exchange your SimCash for Simoleones.

Another important issue is that you will not be able to update SimCity BuildIt, so, at a certain point in the game, you might not be able to play.

One final note to keep in mind is that if you play offline on one device and play online on another device using the same account, all progress on the first device will be overwritten and cannot be recovered. For this reason it is good from time to time to connect to the Internet so that the game saves the progress, among other things.
