There are so many battle strategies in SimCity BuildIt that it is very difficult to explain in detail each one of them. But it is true that, beyond the Tips and Tricks about battles on the web, there are basic strategies that can be learned, and that, in general, are good methods to follow. And we say "in general" because there are always exceptions to the generic good practices of the War.
In this section we explain these basic battle strategies in an original way; telling you what NOT to do.

When the opponent has attacked your city, do not repair green hulls! First, you must defend yourself.
Why?
In case the opponent puts a jackpot booster on you and you don't defend yourself, by repairing, you give the opponent an extra damage that he can take advantage of with that jackpot to make double points.
How should this be done?
It is normal that the opponent attacks you with a jackpot booster. Check if this is the case. And if you see it on, first fail the jackpot with a dud booster, then you can repair the green hulls.
Another option would be to wait for the jackpot time to pass to start repairing. In the meantime, you can always prepare the items requested by the green hulls so that, once the jackpot has passed, you can leave quickly.
Don't use war money to buy war items, use it only to buy boosters.
Why?
War money is a scarce commodity and although there are tricks to get more of it, they are not tricks that will make you rich from this loot. So use it very sparingly and don't spend it on goods that can be obtained by other means.
How should it be done?
Use the war money to buy battle boosters (jackpots, duds, vampires, etc.); and get the war items through the shipments enabled to get them. This will be the most efficient way to avoid wasting your War money (purples).
When the opponent has some damage left to put him under shield, don't use the minimum to close him.
Why?
When attacking an opponent's city, the extra damage is NOT counted, but the points are. This is extremely important when you give the opposing city a jackpot booster, as you maximize the points from that attack.
How should this be done?
When a rival city has, for example, only one damage left to put it under shield, use whenever you can the maximum attack available to maximize the points. That is to say, if a rival city has one damage left, and you put 10, you put it under shield the same but, nevertheless, it counts the points of the attack of 10. If we add a jackpot booster to this, we are optimizing the attack.
When attacking a city, try not to do it without a jackpot.
Why?
When attacking a rival city, doing it without a jackpot means winning half as much as if you do it with a jackpot. This difference can be crucial when it comes to winning a war, besides the fact that the jackpot can also be used by other members of your team and continue to score double points.
How should it be done?
Keep in mind to buy as many jackpot boosters as you can in the war commercial building store (especially the smaller 10-minute ones). And just before attacking, put the jackpot booster on the enemy city you are going to attack, and proceed to launch your attacks. Do it fast and you will get the maximum points that, on the other hand, will make you win levels in the War Pass, getting cards, SimCash, purple battle coins, etc.
Always read the chat before attacking.
Why?
Other gamers in your club may be organizing an attack. If you attack without reading the chat, you could hinder a battle strategy or ruin an attack between several gamers.
How should it be done?
When you are clear that you want to attack, check in seconds if someone is organizing an attack. If they are organizing it they will say who they are going to attack, try to launch your attacks on enemy cities without hindering your teammates. If there is no one in the chat or nothing is being organized, launch your attacks without problems.
If you have been attacked, wait to exit the shield until you are about to make the attack.
Why?
Although not always, being under shield is an advantage, since, in order to attack you, they must break that shield and it can only be done with the shield buster (an A+ card).
How should it be done?
Stay one or two away from leaving and when you are going to attack (because you already have enough energy or because you want to join an attack), repair the green hulls you have left and then launch your attacks.
Purple boosters are defense boosters (placed in friendly cities), red boosters are attack boosters (placed in enemy cities). Do not place the boosters without knowing what they are for.
Why?
If you put a booster without knowing it, you can ruin a war in your club.
How should it be done?
Your club is a great ally, ask what each one is for if you have doubts. A brief summary:
